February 2019 Update

The Ontario Soil Network is up and running for 2019. In January, 25 of the selected 37 farmer mentors from across the province met in Kingston to network, work on presentation and leadership skills, and learn how to talk to the media. Each of these farmers in the upcoming year will be expected to promote soil health practices to their friends and neighbours through various discussions. They will also be asked to host a field day.

They will be highlighted through various media channels to share their story on no-till, strip till, cover crops, etc. Be sure to check out ontariosoil.net to find out more, and to learn from others working on soil health across the province. Farmer profiles will continually be updated throughout the year so be sure to check back regularly.

This project is support in part by Grain Farmers of Ontario and I sit on the advisory board.
